Stress and depression among women and men who have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss: focusing on both sexes
2021, Reproductive BioMedicine OnlineCitation Excerpt :It has previously been shown that pregnancy loss also affects men emotionally (Johnson and Puddifoot, 1996; Johnson and Baker, 2004). A study about coping with pregnancy loss showed that men felt significantly more strained if their wives were depressed, irritable or grieving, to which men responded with an increased concern for their partners' well-being (Beutel et al., 1996). In a recent qualitative study from our group, men felt pressured to remain positive and support their partners despite their own feelings of loss after a pregnancy loss (Koert et al., 2019).
