CLINICAL PRESENTATION

A 78-year-old lady was admitted with asymptomatic iron deficiency anaemia and weight loss. Her past medical history included hypertension for which she was taking a number of different medications. A barium enema (fig 1) was reported as showing an annular stricture in the transverse colon and proximal queuing of faeces.
