Radiologic guide to surgical treatment of first carpometacarpal joint osteoarthritis

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this article is to provide a radiologic guide to surgical treatment of first carpometacarpal osteoarthritis, a common problem especially in older women.

Conclusion: Knowledge of the indications, surgical technique, component design, normal postoperative imaging assessment, and imaging findings of complications is important to providing a meaningful radiologic evaluation of patients after first carpometacarpal joint surgeries, including arthroplasty and arthrodesis.
