Relationship between prehospital modified Charlson Comorbidity Index and septic shock 30-day mortality
2022, American Journal of Emergency MedicineCitation Excerpt :Bivariate analyses comparing characteristics between alive and deceased septic shock patients were performed. Modified prehospital CCI was analysed as continuous variable and as a binary variable using a threshold of 5 (≥5) according to previous studies [13,14,22]. In order to reduce the effect of confounders on the 30-day mortality, a propensity score matching [23] was used to balance the differences in baseline characteristics between patients with modified prehospital CCI ≥5 and those with modified prehospital CCI < 5.
