The study conducted by Tagliabue, et al. (2016) investigated mortality from breast cancer in relation to exposure to varying levels of atmospheric PM2.5 levels. The sample of 2021 patients was taken from Varese Province in Italy. This location contains the highest levels of PM2.5 in the world due to the surrounding mountains and lack of air current.
